Our Harvest Bulletin is not just a tree...

Harvest Bulletin!

Recently, students have been doing activities that we are posting in the hall on our fence near our tree. Students are very proud of their work and their accomplishments.

Problem Solving Turkeys! Students used their Pencil Problem Solving Strategies to solve a Thanksgiving word problem! When they were finished and had their answer correct, they were able to create their very own turkey!

Corn husker's are what my readers have become! Students are using the corn to write information about the book they have read. It contains the author, title, their name and the main idea. The leaf that is either across or next to it contains a detail about the book! Students are beginning to read alot more every day to fill up their corn stocks. MyOn is really helping students accomplish their goals in the classroom.

Thank you to my wonderful students for all their hardwork!

Turkey Door

Our Turkey Door is getting us into the season! This Friday, students will be learning about the Thanksgiving Holiday and writing a reason why they are "Thankful". Students will be adding their reasons to the turkey! Here is our door display!

New Problem Solving Strategy

With the stress of the new and upcoming STAAR test brings new strategy's for our students. After browing the internest I located this strategy on the internet from a fellow teacher. I tried it today and it was a SUCCESS! I bought the .pdf from the teacher, printed them on white cardstock and lamaniated them. Now my students have them with them in their binders! I loved this idea and it was so beneficial for my students today.

Live Binder is Here!

I have created a Live Binder to be used at home and in the classroom. It has websites that can be useful for practice on skills and/or to complete homework and projects.

Fall Bulletin Board

I am so very proud of my fall bulletin board! I am not yet done, but this is the first of it. My students still have Turkey's to put together with past, present, future, and irregular verb tenses.

We will also have corn stocks that have detailed book information on each ear of corn. Hopefully we will have a whole field of corn when winter begins! I hope we have to "cut" alot of corn. More pictures to come as our bulletin "grows" into something more through the season.
